Week of September 24

I LOVE FALL!  It's my favorite time of year- cool mornings & nights, crisp days with beautiful Carolina Blue Skies, leaves beginning to turn- Who doesn't love this weather?!

If you're new to Mustard Seed Kitchen, first of all, Welcome!  Second, I always offer a homemade meal, side, starch or bread & dessert.  Every week the menu changes.  In the summer, I always offer a Main Dish Salad or Quiche, and in the winter, I make a big pot of soup every week.  Soups and Desserts are my Specialties.  I will also sell soup by the quart if you'd like some to freeze.

This Week's Menu:

Soup- Lentil and Roasted Red Pepper (w/Ham), Salad, Homemade Molasses Brown Bread, Salad & Dessert

Meal- Meatloaf, Mashed Potatoes, Green Beans & Dessert

Like a Quiche- Eggs Ortega- An Egg Casserole that is especially good for supper!  Eggs, Cheese, Chile Peppers, Serve with your own Salsa, Sour Cream and additional toppings you would put on Tacos!  Comes with Spinach Salad & Dessert

Dessert of the Week-  Fresh Apple Cake.  A Bundt cake with fresh apples, and pecans and a brown sugar glaze.

Happy Autumn!

This week is supposed to be chilly.  Autumn is my favorite time of year- and I'm loving the cooler temperatures.

This Week's Menu:
White Chili- White Beans & Chicken are the base.  Served with Spinach Salad & Dessert

Layered Enchilada Casserole- A yummy comfort food.  Served with Salad & Dessert

Labor Day Week

I'm working on my first wedding cake- delivering it to Columbia, SC for a wedding on Sat. the 8th.  Wish me luck.  Pictures to follow!

This week's menu is:

Quiche-  Shrimp, Vidalia Onion & Swiss
  Served with Salad & Dessert

Soup-  White Bean topped with Bacon and Homemade Rosemary Croutons
  Served with Salad & Dessert

Meal-  Crispy Oven-Fried Rosemary Chicken & Potatoes
(Bone-in pieces, seasoned with fresh Rosemary & herbs, tossed with olive oil and baked until crispy).  NOT breaded and fried. 
  Served with Salad & Dessert

Dessert of the Week-  Lemon Bars (never got them made last week :)

Aug. 13-18

It's the 1st Week of School!  WAHOO!!!  Please don't tell my kids I'm this excited!  I try to be upbeat because I never liked school...from Kindergarten on.  So, the kids got to help me with this week's menu.

I've got fresh tomatoes & have made Homemade Marinara for the Spaghetti, and I still haven't made my birthday cake, so there's a choice of desserts-

This week's meals:  Spaghetti w/Meatballs, Salad & Dessert

Layered Enchilada Casserole- A family favorite- layers of seasoned ground beef, tortillas, beans, sauce and cheese. Served with lettuce, tomato & onion, and Dessert

Salad:  Chunky Chicken Salad w/Pita Bread, Fruit & Dessert

Dessert Choices- Boston Cream Cheesecake or Brownies (no nuts)

August 6-10 Menu

"A Few of My Favorite Things"...I LOVE my birthday!  Although some years are harder than others, and some ages are harder to accept than others, I LOVE the month of August because it's my "Birthday Month"!  This being said, my birthday week's menu is all about me & my favorite dishes- let me know if you'd like a meal!

This Week's Quiche-  Traditional Quiche Lorraine...Bacon, Onion & Swiss
Served with Salad and Dessert

Soup-  White Bean w/Bacon and Homemade Rosemary Croutons on top.  I know it's August, but this soup is Delicious!  Served with Salad and Dessert

Meal-  Real Deal Fried Chicken (soaked overnight, fried crispy).  Served with Butterbeans & Corn, Salad and Dessert

Dessert of the Week-  Boston Cream Cheesecake- 3 Layers; Yellow Cake, Cheesecake, and Chocolate on Top!  It's my favorite of the 15+ flavors of cheesecake I make.

The only day I can't deliver a meal this week is Monday.

Main Dish Salad- Chicken Salad- Homemade w/grapes & pecans. Served with tossed salad, pita bread, and dessert. My chicken salad makes great pita-pocket sandwiches.

Meal- Baked Spaghetti- Served with tossed salad, garlic bread & dessert.

Dessert of the Week- Cupcake-Sized Brownie Bottom Cheesecakes.  As the name implies, it's the best of both worlds!

It's too warm to make any soup!  I do plan to make my Chicken & Dumplings, AND my Yummy Brunswick Stew before Spring is over- but it's TOO warm this week!
