Thanksgiving
What do you LOVE about Thanksgiving? I love the turkey, even moreso afterwards- LOVE the leftovers! I grew up with Oyster Dressing as well as Cornbread Dressing. YUM. And I love sweet potatoes, cranberry sauce, pecan pie, my Grandma's Butterbeans & Corn, and adding some of my family's favorites. The brown sugar-cinnamon cheesecake w/apple crumb topping (pictured) is a wonderful treat for those who love cheesecake AND those who love apple pie.
I'm glad to help with your baking needs- or cranberry sauce, side dishes, salad dressings, or ideas for leftovers. Call Me! I am truly thankful for my fans & customers.

This week, I'm taking a sample tray of goodies to a local coffee shop. Here's hoping they'll carry Mustard Seed Kitchen Muffins, Scones, Coffee-Cake and Desserts!! I'll be baking like crazy on Mon. & Tue. (11/7 & 11/8) so if you'd like some breakfast goodies for the week, let me know!

Menu October 25-31
Ok- Usually I just post the weekly menu. This week, however, on day #10 with a broken tooth, I've been thinking "What soup should I make this weekend"? Well, I am SOUPED OUT! I don't want anymore soup, chili, pudding, pie, yogurt or ice cream. I don't want grits or oatmeal. I want BACON! I want a huge sub- with BACON!
My tooth won't be fixed until Wed. so I am still on a soft-foods diet. How can I have soft food and BACON?

Happy July
The summer is flying by. This month, I'm trying to cook outside or in the microwave as much as possible. Also, trying LOTS of salads...not necessarily a good thing, according to the family.
I used to think people were crazy for saying; "If Mama aint happy, aint NOBODY happy". Once I had baby #2, I totally understood that saying! My new saying is "If Mama's too hot to cook, either Daddy can cook (outside) or we're having a salad"! Again; this saying hasn't caught on at my house.
All that to say, I'm shifting gears for the summer months. I'll offer a Weekly Menu- instead of a Homemade Soup, I'll have a Main Dish Salad. I'm also shopping local Tailgate Markets, so I'll be offering vegetables & fruits as side-dishes; based on what's fresh-picked and available. I can't wait for the tomatoes to be ripe!
My Desserts will also feature fresh produce. Follow my Blog to see what's happening in the kitchen!
